This may sound really basic but believe me it really helps, put your feet flat on the floor, keeps you grounded therefore able to concentrate on topic in hand and look very secure in your posture. HTH
yes i try that but then i dont stay still and i start fidgeting, think ill have to have more control0 -
After my first post and before the second, I had one too (Tues morn) and had to try remember what I and others had put here too!

Should find out within a week too! Could be £5k a year better off!0 -
Candidates with impressive academic track record often believe that their resume is enough to grant them that coveted job. However, it should be kept in mind that physical appearance does matter to some extent in a job interview. It is better for candidates to keep in mind that a job interview is a venue for marketing themselves among their interviewers. One should never go on rambling about oneself. Precise answers, positive attitude and calm composure show that the candidate is confident of his/her ability to perform well if selected.0

Sounds obvious, but its missed my many (much to their cost)
Be professional and friendly to the receptionist (if there is one) I always used to ask the reception staff what they thought of candidates.0 -

im always friendly to any receptionist but id never thought of asking them what they thought of the other candidates0 -
Just to spell it out, DKLS was not suggesting that interviewees should ask the receptionist about the other candidates, just pointing out that the selection panel may well ask the receptionist and any other staff what they thought about the interviewees as they passed through!im always friendly to any receptionist but id never thought of asking them what they thought of the other candidates
We certainly do that where I work, just ask if anyone has any impressions. We've also done 'trial by lunch', where all the interviewees are invited to lunch with all the staff, which I personally think is barbaric!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

In preparing for a job interview, you should make every effort to organize how you would present your qualifications, accomplishments and talents so it profits understandably and complies with the necessities of the job - not just thus you can put off on concerning what you are acquainted with and what you have accomplished and what you look forward to. Preparing yourself best for the job interview and especially if it is the job interview for the job you have always longed for could be exceptionally demanding and nerve-racking.0

Bang on Sue, I have always asked other staff for their first impressions of candidates.
Trial by lunch sounds agonising and reminds me of a horrendous 3 day long recruitment process for joining Audis graduate scheme, where we were monitored at every meal.0
