Need advice as C.A.R.S are being a pain in the !!!!

Right now, C.A.R.S are being a pain in the !!! towards me because I can't pay £30.95 for August's payment to Fitness First which wasn't taken out of my bank account last month because of a genuine mistake on my part.

FF have since taken out this month's payment and I have no problem paying last month's payment next Tuesday but even though my local branch of FF have no problem with me paying them next week there, it seems that C.A.R.S are harassing me to pay them ASAP with threatening letters and they've even cheekily added a £25.00 charge because I didn't get in touch with them...

I've not been able to get in touch with them as I've been in and out of hospital for the past few weeks thanks to my epilepsy and I have better things to worry about than a bunch of bullies threatening me with legal action...

Does anyone know what my next course of action should be as I'm more than willing to take them to the Small Claims Court if they do take the £25.00 charge out of my bank account on the 1st of next month.

Have you tried calling them to explain you were in hodpital at the time and have been in touch with FF to bring the payments back up to date? Request they remove the charge too.

If they don't i would try reclaim the charges just as you would for a bank charge.

    Hi

Your first paragraph makes me think you are paying by standing order. The last makes me think 'direct debit'

Standing order is definitely better because you control what is paid.

CARS is a well known dodgy debt collector. You will not get much sense out of them and should not phone them.

If FF have put your (tiny) debt with them, FF can also recall it, and write off the charge.
