Whay about making a rice pudding? Maybe the sweet taste would get your LO used to the rice texture.

    Have you tried rissoto?

One that worked for my very fussy bubs.

    Corn n Rice balls

Soften 1 finely chopped onion and bell pepper in a spot of oil
Puree I can of tinned sweetcorn and pur over
Simmer until the "raw" taste goes - about 2 minutes
Stir in enough cooked rice to make a thick gloop
Stir through 1 beaten egg (not really necessary but I was having a challenge getting eggs into him as well at the time)

Either make into "burgers" or little balls and bake at 180 for about 15-20 mins ona greased baking sheet with a little spray oil to m ake them crispy.

Found that the balls were easier for him to eat - finger food rather than faffing around with a fork a fluffy grains of rice. So we went through a stage of bean balls, rice balls, pasta balls - LOL. Still my Mum says "its only the food in their bellies that do them any good!!!!"

Now he's happy with lots of different textures - and after seeing rice harvested on some old holiday snaps of mine, and realising that kids in India eat rice every day - hes happy to fork it up like the rest of us.

    Happy mealtimes

What about veggie minced beef? I often do this and it tastes like risotto.

I wonder if you might be creating difficulties if she catches on to the fact that you 'hide' stuff she doesn't like in food . There are some things that children will eat if they have the flavour, texture etc masked by something else, but I can see that children might get funny about eating made up dishes if they think you might be hiding stuff.

This is a fab recipe site posted by nicifer_noonoo. This is a good recipe for a slow cooker and sounds nice.

I've just looked through it again and an American quart is less than an English quart which is 2 pints.
