Debt Correct

I had a call last night from a company called debt correct, who say they can negotiate with my creditors to stop them charging interest on my Loan and Credit card. If i sign up, we come to a base repayment that I can afford from which they will take 15% as service payment. I'm keen to reduce my repayments and speed up the time it takes to get out of debt so losing the interest repayments sounds pretty good. Any advice on this?

  • Sounds like a debt management company, if you are truly struggling your best bet is to go to the debt charities (CCCS, debt line, CAB) as these can do the same but for free.
    Is a Bipolar bear :p
  • So if you have £100 to repay your debts each month they take £15 - so it will take a lot longer to pay off your debts!
The CAB or national debt helpline will do the same for nothing.

I have been with Debt Correct for 6 months now and although they charge a fee it has really helped me get back on my feet and feel good about my finances. They are all really friendly and always give me help and advice. I tried going to the cab and got nowhere fast!!!

Why would you pay someone to handle your creditors when someone will do it for free ? CCCS.

    Spam or what ?

Was there a theory behind dragging up an old thread despite to give the company a glowing reference.
  • If I were you I wouldnt trust debt correct. I canceled with them and tried to get my money back and they phoned me and they were trying to bully me over the phone. It turns out that Debt correct helped themselves to my account and took what they wanted and I can honestly say they put me more in debt. ALSO THEY DONT TELL YOU THAT THEY THE FIRST 2 MONTHS THAT YOU PAY THEM IS AN ADMIN FEE.

in a nutshell don't trust them go elsewhere
