Perfectly understandable not to want to expose a toddler to a unknown 3rd party who by living in the same house could have influence over the child.
I think the poster is probably worried about things such as someone smoking or swearing or drinking heavily around her daughter or other antisocial behaviour.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Hey
I so know what you mean about having the car - I'm a stay-at-home mum and honestly, having a car is like a lifeline to the outside world. Admittedly ours is from 1990 and is worth so little we got given it LOL but it works for us!
We're pretty stringent about fuel costs though and I/we do walk where we can for shorter trips which helps. How much of the fuel costs are for the car?
I noticed the grocery costs at £300. For three of you I reckon you can easily cut this - there's 5 of us (2 adults, 2 LOs and a baby that would scoff everything, swear he has hollow legs already) and we average around the £200 mark. I also cook from scratch, are you menu planning too - down to the very finer points such as packed lunches (if your DH has one) and how much milk you use?Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63
