When to pay the CSA?

My payments schedule shows a date range for payment to the CSA - 26 September to 25 October. I spoke to the CSA and they said I must pay at the beginning of this, ie, in advance. But I'm still wondering whether I really should pay at the end, ie, in this case by 25 October?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • I don't know what their rules are but on my statements, the charge is on the 16th & they receive my payment on the 17th of each month.
I don't know if they arranged this because I told them I get paid on the 15th of each month, but I guess they did.

DDTD - Thanks - is that in arrears or in advance or somehting else?
  • Not sure that is right because we were told firstly by the solicitor then by the CSA themselves that you pay the CSA in arrears rather than advance

  • Agree, I think i've read that round here before, too. you pay csa in arrears. Kelloggs will be able to give you a definate answer when she arrives. I'm having a stab and it sounds familiar but I could be mixed up with something else.

CS is paid in arrears .
  • My CS is paid in arrears of one month. I don't know why the figures are like that, but that's what they say on the statements.

My Son was 19 on 15th May 2008, but I still paid a full months payment on the 16th May, so that was my one month's arrears sorted.
