Help - links won't work!

For some bizarre reason when I click on any links sent to me by e-mail they won't work. Sometimes nothing happens and sometimes a box pops up that appears to be my folder.

I can copy and paste the link into the address box and it works which is OK in some cases but in some e-mails there's no address just a button saying click here and I don't know what to do with them.

Tha only thing that's changed about my computer in the last few days is that I renewed my McAfee Security System and as I did that I upgraded my Internet Explorer.

Can anyone help?

I had this problem a while back and I did this, I opened IE then Tools, Internet Options, Programs Tab and made sure that Outlook Express was my default mail client program from the drop down box and clicked apply, also whilst in their I also chose reset web settings and unticked reset homepage when asked then clicked Yes then Ok.
