no of scones out of a batch?

using delias recipe how many are you all getting?
just made two batches and i get six out of each batch...how on earth does she get 8? i dont roll them out and use a cutter, just hand flatten to the right depth and cut them into triangles

I got 8 at the weekend, but used a smaller cutter than usualMake sure you don;t roll them too thinly, to try to get more scones, or they don't rise.
