I Need a new Washing Machine

I have around £300 for a new washing machine. We have had a Hotpoint for around 6 years, but the clothes are just not getting washed properly & sometimes water appears in the drum.
I am looking for a large capacity e.g 7kg as the daughter seems to wear once then needs it washing.
Which is the best machine to get for the price at this present time?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

  • Just steer clear of Indesit/Arsiton/Hotpoint. You will probably get posts saying "I've had my Indesit/Ariston/Hotpoint for x years with no problems..." but I've had a number of seriousl problems with them in recent years, one of which almost got to the small claims court. Never again.

Paid a bit extra and got a Zanussi this time, haven't looke back.
  • Hi, have a look at, offer of the day website, it has an indesit 1400, 7kg for £281, with free delivery
  • Alamo
I am not very good at finding websites!! Can you give me more information on the indesit & if possible a link.

  • Hi im not sure how to do a link, if you go to the website and at the search part put in, 7kg washing machine then when the page changes go to, sort by, click on and put price, the indesit is the 3rd one down, it is an indesit iwe7145, 7kg was £364 reduced to £278, white and sold by electrical123.com with free delivery. Ill keep trying for a link

  • I've got an LG tele and a portable DVD player - both very good!!

I got my washing machine off ebay and It has been perfect. Sorted results by distance and picked it up form 4 miles away. It was a 3 month old hotpoint aquarius and the people were emigrating. Got it for £70 and its never let me down - worth a look?!?!
  • Personally, not very impressed with my LG washing machine (Intello washer WM13220 FD). Sour water smell in between washes and brown gunk in machine. Sometimes leaves brown stains on clothes. Have read similar problems with this machine on internet and tried various cleaning methods. Obviously, can't comment on other models. Have had machine about five years and trap is now leaking. Am now looking for another machine - need large drum capacity, any suggestions welcome?!
