Southern Fried Chicken - what to serve with it?

Was in supermarket today and a large tray of southern fried chicken portions was in the reduced cabinet (8 pieces for £2) going to cook it tonight but what would you serve it with - fancy something a bit different than boring old chips

Thanks in advance for any help

We often have coleslaw with ours or even sweetcorn or corn-on-the-cob is nice. :D
  • Baked potatoes, corn on the cob, beans, savoury rice, salad.

  • I second the corn on the cob and coleslaw. Also, make some traditional Texan baked beans.

we usually have potato wedges (since the oven is on anyway), salad and mayo - or roast pots and a mixed veg.
    Every days a School day!
  • Definitely coleslaw as it is a nice contrast to the spices on the chicken!
Cook potato wedges in the oven at the same time as you cook the chicken.
  • coleslaw/rice salad/ potato wedges/ potato salad/ put it in wraps?

Corn on the cob (which is very cheap) - break one ear into three handy sized pieces.
    Wedges or chips (obviously).
Basically you could go and look in your local Kentucky and see what they do!
