You would need to check the small print of the policy.
But ... most insurers would argue that you still have employment, so why would they pay out for unemployment?0 -

To be paid out on unemployment, you would need to sign on for benefits and get the benefits agency to complete a form confirming you are unemployed and qualify for benefits. With a second job, they are not going to do that and that and that kills any claim for unemployment.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I have two jobs and am currently claiming off my mortgage insurance since being made redundant from job no.1. The second job is less than 16 hours per week which means I qualify for job seekers allowance and because of this, I can claim on the insurance. The Job Centre have to sign a form every month which I send to the Ins Co, confirming that I am still claiming JSA.
