i have only been green for a month,but am enjoying the challenge so far.
1.only buy organic food and use the milkman and a local organic shop, so i can boycott tescos.
2.recycle everything.
3.stopped using tumble dryer and leaving the lights on.
4. using washable santitary towels to stop filling landfills up.
5. only using organic cleaning products and toiletries. next stop will be organic bedding, towels and clothes. cotton is the most sprayed crop in the world.
6. looking to get a water butt and a wormery for composting.
7. the car is now run on biodiesel.0 -
Since joining the site I have,
1) stopped using the dishwasher (electric bill has dropped £40 a month):j
2) " " " tumbledryer( " " " " £25 " "):j
3) purchased an electric bike to save on petrol costs.:j
4) Buy organic where possible.:j
5) Replaced all light bulbs with low energy ones.:j
6) trying to grow some veg in the garden.:cool:
7)Waiting for my wormery and composter to arrive.:j
8) I have started to sort my rubbish so I can recycle more.:j
9) sprouting seeds.:j

Bob Flowerdew (organic gardener with the ponytail) says in one of his books that cat pooh is fine in the compost. I was on another website (maybe spiral seeds or downsizer the other day & they were discussing composting lavatories, so no pooh need be wasted if you try hard enough. Bob also said diluted wee is good for the compost heap ( he called it Personally Initiated Something Something but I have forgotten the details). I tihnk that might give them a bit of a scare on my allotment though.
