I'm thinking of setting up as sole trader. I need to buy some sound equipment in order to ply trade. Can I offset cost of equipment against profits under AIA? If I buy second hand (eg on EBay) would that disqualify claim (ie new buy only)?

Yes, you can claim AIA - it doesn not matter where you bought the items from.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
