Unripe pears and grapes.

I have a lot of pears that came off my tree too early a couple of weeks ago and really don't think they're going to ripen at all...can I do anything with them? I also have tonnes of black grapes on the vine that I can't see ripening any further - they're certainly not sweet enough to eat, any ideas on a use for them?

you could try covering pears with brown paper and putting some bananas with them0

or I put them on a sunny windowsill in a shallow dish (Again with a banana as they release ethylene which is how fruit is ripened commercially). If they still don't ripen, I'd bake them in a slow oven with some sugar and a knob of butter, they'll be yummy.0

I made a mixed fruit crumble with grapes, plums and pears before to use them up, it was lovely!Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.
