Just wondering if any of you lovely people can help me out? :D Just found some chunks of turkey, and a small bit of beef at the back of the freezer from....last christmas!! I froze it the day after boxing day....do you think it will be ok to use, trying to not be wasteful!! Or do you think it is past it's time? If it will still be ok, any suggestions as to what i can do with it?

Also to say thank you to everyones advice to stretch mince by using lentils. Just made a batch of bolagnese using it and managed to get 3 generous servings out of a 500g pack, for the 2 of us....would of been more if OH wasn't such a meat freak, but i am slowly, and cunningly inflicting my new found MSE ways on him :rotfl:

Frozen meat can keep for a long time. Defrost it and see how it looks.
For meals I would put the turkey in a casserole.
The beef it would depend on what type it is?
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.
  • The beef is a silverside joint, couple of small chunks left, which was cooked in the slow cooker originally :D

defrost it and smell it!!! if it got freezer burns - chuck it! if it smells ok I would use it in a cooked (preferebly to high temp) recipe. like a curry where you can bring it boil.
