Taking Advantage - Blair Endersby

This morning I got a mail shot from a company called Blair Endersby stating that they could help if I am struggling to repay my debts.

I rang them up to ask where they got my details from and they advised that they could not give me that information. I got them (I hope) to take my name off their mailing list.

The question is - I am in debt, struggling to pay bills etc. But how did they, a company that I have never heard of know this.

Does anyone know how I can get more info on where they got my name from. This is scaring me that a company I have never heard of seems to know my financial position.

From your bank. I found Abbey not only sold my details on but also my sons, he was 2 !!!!!!. He started getting junk mail from broadband suppliers and the like. It had to be Abbey because thats the only place that had his details.

Has anyone noticed the big green vans that are full of junk mail and they put 5/10 bits of junk through everyones door. Can't remember what the companies called, but a way of stopping them would be good.

  • Thanks for the info Broken Hearted. So much for Data Protection!!! I've Googled Blair Endersby and have found out that they were set up by Baines & Ernst in 2004. Interesting they have the same initials/website format.

Companies also use powerful marketing databases that profile roads and people. So, if might say, "this road is a low socio-economic area, where people are not degree eduacted. They read the Sun. Average 4 children per family." And companies then blanket send out debt letters.

sometimes they just send these out to everyone, not relevant to everyone on the list but they only have to catch a few for it to be worthwhile. It may well be a coincidence that you got it and it did apply to you.
