I need some advice, ive been messed about by a company whom owe me £2500, after threatening legal they are to give me a cheque tommorow for the full amount, to me in my personal name, the problem is i think its just to get me off there backs or delay any legal action.
Is it possible for me to get this cashed right away at a cash converters type place, i know there are fees to pay but i need the money asap before they possibly cancel it.
My other concern is i get the cash advance from the cheque then it gets cancelled, whom is liable, please fact only.

Iain

once you have the cheque its acknowledgement of the debt, so if they cancel you will find legal action easier - as not based on initial claim ... of course getting a judgement is not a guarantee of getting the payment .

No personal experience of cheque cashing services BUT I would ASSUME cheque cashing services put a clause stating you are responsible for the amoumnt should th cheque bounce + in current climate I wonder if they would cash it anyway

Id just pay it into your own bank account and ask for special clearance on the cheque there is a fee about £15.00 depending on your bank. It will save you paying cash converters huge fees. If they owe you the money what makes you think they will cancel the cheque.
