Pixels aint everything!
These cameras are cheap and poor quality
Go for these cameras (yes, less pixels but the picture QUALITY is much better):
Olympus CAMEDIA C 170
Compare Prices on Olympus CAMEDIA C 180
Compare Prices on Samsung Digimax A503
Amongst many in this ball park
Lens quality and build quality contribute more to photo quality than resolution.
The best guide I have seen on web for cameras is here
Lost of sample photos and in depth analysis from the prosLink now removed! sorry0 -

I cant agree more
can u actually print 8 million pixels ? and if you could the camera would be bottom of the pile. If your even slightly serious about quality pictures look for something with a better lens.
I invested in a casio and it was best investment I made, many more functions and quality is exelent. I find using 3/4 mega pixels is more than enough.MSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0 -

agree...lol... that's like saying I bought a Hasselbald H2D39 (c.£15,000 plus £??? for lenses) and I'm really happy with it http://www.hasselblad.se/index.asp?pageURL=/launch0106/h2d39.asp?secId=1143&itemId=3849
apples and pears.
Scott is absolutely right; don't fall into the megapixel marketing game... other factors such as optics and build are the more important. Digi cams have developed so much since the mid 90s that megapixels is no longer the real issue. 3 megapixels upwards is really more than sufficient for standard users and its becoming increasingly difficult to buy cameras with that little now. For those that need more mp... well they wouldn't be shopping for a £80 camera really.0
