Assessments

  • PWCs are obligated to supply details when certain changes occur, such as if child leaves the household etc.

NRPs from April 08 need only report a change in circs if it involves a change of employment or employment status where they are currently paying by DEO. Also you have to report a change of address. These are now legally required.

No other changes have to be reported - BUT REMEMBER, a review will only take effect from the time that you do report the change. So if your income drops, and you dont tell them for 6 months for whatever reason - they will not backdate the reassessment to the time the income lowered, but only from the time that you reported the change.

When a change of circs review is requested it has to be checked to see if it will breach the "tolerance level". For CS1 cases, the assessment has to alter by more than £10 per week. For CS2 cases, the income has to change by more than 5%. Any other change in circs for CS2 has no tolerance level to consider (eg if you had increased levels of shared care)
  • Thanks:D
I think we will just report it even if its under the 5% if it goes up (very unlikely to go down) so that the csa can decide if payments are to increase, that way we can't be accused of anything:rolleyes:
Have to say (touches wood;)) our csa case worker is very good and actually without saying it she has sided with us because we are more than compliant;):T
