I sent a letter of complaint to my mortgage company about 4 weeks ago. I haven't had a reply yet and was wondering whats the next step? Should I write to them again or contact the mortgage code compliance board?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi,
Did you send it via recorded delivery? Assuming they received it, 4 weeks without even an acknoledgement isn't acceptable. Try the following MCCB doc MCCB doc it should help. Please note that whilst I am a mortgage broker my comments on this site are intended as general discussion and NOT personalised mortgage advice. Thanks MortgageXclusive.
Yes I did send the complaint recorded delivery. I will write again to say I will be contacting the Mortgage Compliance board if no further action is taken.Regards

Was the complaint about service or the product?
Was the mortgage arranged by the lender or through a third party?
Was the complaint sent to the right place? ie right company but wrong office?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hi DD
I complained about the service and the product and sent it to the Compliance department. The mortgage was arranged through a third party with SPML then it changed hands to Future mortgages, its Future whom I have the complaint.Regards

Hi, Just spotted this thread, and if possible would like some advice also regarding a complaint with my mortgage with SPML arranged through a third party broker company, who in my mind did not give us the full facts when we took the mortgage out, and sold us a product that suited them and not us. Another broker has looked at our circumstances and is in no doubt that we were mis-informed at the outset and we should complain as our fixed rate deal has now ended and we are looking at an increase of approx £400/month! I have written to the company concerned and they are investigating, but what can we realisticly expect them to do? and if they dismiss our complaint how do we prove our case to the FOS?
any advice will be great.
