When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Good morning lovely DFWs....back to Monday again..booooo:o
Hope you all had a fab weekend - *waves madly to everyone*

Had a very, very quiet wekeend as my girls were with their dad so I'm very rested and don't feel too bad - apart from a mild panic whenever I think of starting Uni on Wed, I'm so nervous:rolleyes:

Ok, here's my list for today....not much I don't think:
  • check banking
  • daily scratchies...(I won £5 yesterday!)
  • post book to my sis for my niece to read, save them buying one
  • packed lunches all round to work
  • no heating on yet, even though I feel chilly in the eveningcold.gif
  • keep switching lights etc off when we leave the room
  • read paper online
  • keep house tidy
  • get cross if my laptop doesn't arrive....hairpull.gif
  • dinner tonight from plan - meatballs and spaghetti (hopefully DD2 will make them for me!)
  • sparkle....HSstars.gif
Ok, that's all for now - have a great day everyoneHSpuschel-schmal.gif
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Morning all :j

    Monday again

Don't worry about starting Uni Milly, you will love it! I started when I was in my mid thirties, and was a bit nervous, but really, really loved it - one of the best times of my life. I even went back after some years teaching to do a Masters and a PhD (though these were not so much fun)...
It gives you a whole different outlook.

    Today I have / will:

    Check online banking (done)

Ordered a wrap dress from ethical superstore (not ms, but need another tidy dress for work, and not too expensive - and fairtrade, so helps somebody else out who is struggling)

HM meals from stores and leftovers

See to animals and plants (in a minute)

Do a bit of housework each day as it is threatening to overwhelm me - I am so tired at weekends, it just doesn't get done. OH is working all the time at the moment and never seems to be there to help. If I knew someone suitable I would consider employing a cleaner for one day a week, but it would have to be someone I trust, who would be ok with my scruffy house and two funny little dogs...

Chase tenant for rent if she does not turn up to pay it this evening
She normally texts if it is going to be late, but hasn't done so. I have paid out for expensive repairs this month, too.

Right, must get off here and get to work

Have a nice day everyone :hello:

    Morning everyone!

How on earth did it get to be Monday again already? *sigh*

Good luck for Wednesday Milly, you are bound to be nervous but I am sure you won't be the only one!

    Today I will:
    • Check online banking
    • Update spending diary with reciepts from weekend
    • Phone Scottish Power with meter readings from the flat and get dd adjusted
    • NSD
    • Packed lunches, breakfasts and pasties for dinner which I made yesterday
    • Do ironing tonight (didn't get this done yesterday)
    • Switch the heating off if I get home after OH and not let him put it on if I get home first. I really should stop stealing all of his jumpers - then he might be a bit warmer! :p
Was going to go to yoga tonight but my muscles are still so stiff after body pump on Saturday that I am not sure it is such a good idea. Might go up to the flat and try and work out how to cut off the water and drain the system...still haven't made a start on the bathroom :o

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Charge phone at work
    HC later on for DD
Find out if I can order the computer etc I need myself rather than go through a 'recommended' DSA supplier and claim the cash back through quidco - well worth a shot?
Talk to brother about guitar hero bundle offered with some other bits from a pal (her DS is selling them) we want some of the bits but not all of it - so trying to see if brother or BIL would like to have some bits to help us buy some and her get rid of the rest of it :)
    Sparkle

Rainbow stripey socks on - and a purple stripey top for double stripey action today

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
