debt

Hi
can you help me please, my partner bought a vehicle from Reg Vardy, 12 years ago, he in the meantime (just after he got the car) went bankrupt, and as the car was on finance he was advised just to give the car back, which he did, he was told nothing more would be done about it, we now have had several collections agencies trying to gain near enough £5000 - the last ones, i did contact based in scotland were so rude and threatening with me, and we heard nothing about it for a year, now it seems to have been passed to another one in cleckheaton, who are requesting the amount again
what should i do please ?

Hi and welcome to mse :)

If he was made bankrupt after getting the car then it would have been included in his bankruptcy so the company has no right at all to be chasing for a penny.

You can tell them to go away.

  • I agree with Toto. Give the BR order number to anyone who contacts you.

Just to add that even if he wasn't bankrupt the debt would now be statute barred so it would be unenforcable anyway.

You can tell them to go away... twice.
