Hi and welcome loopylou :hello: - well, you've come to the right place!!!!!! :j - there are all sorts of things available but the crucial thing is 'to be in the right place at the right time' .... in other words, just keep logging on to this board as often as you can and applying for the freebie posts as they come up (there are other sites but they tend to 'feed' from this one which is the largest and most up to date so it is much easier just to log on here than trawl round all the others).
No-one knows what will come on next and at times the board is quieter than at others but as long as you keep looking as often as you can and apply as quickly as you can (some can be limited to first xxx amount) you will get some things.
They may not be the worlds most expensive items but is exciting to get things and free is free!!!!
For example: I have had 3 or 4 varied glossy magazines this week (I could never normally buy these) which would be great to have as 'coffee table' magazines not just for you to enjoy but for people to see when they come to visit you in your new home (- congratulations by the way!).....
... plus useful misc. things like a medicine dropper, plasters, eye drops, a small bottle cooler and some really nice cosmentic samples (all useful when you are trying to build up all the bits & pieces you need in your home) and means it can free up cash for other things.
Also keep your eyes open for things like free entrance to things which means a) you can enjoy yourself without spending any money and
b) you may be in a position to spend a bit more on something for
your new home if going out and other things are free.
Explore the other boards on this site (it is huge and takes some getting used to) but there are forums to help save money on utilities & insurance etc, I.T. advice if you have a problem with your computer, household money saving tips, a boards where people post bargains or vouchers - for a quick way to access go to the 'jump' box at the bottom of this page and scroll though the forum options. You can then see the other things that will be of use to you.
As for the freebies board, just keep coming back here as often as you can!!!! - is great! Although not actually 'items' for the house there are loads of links to websites for free recipes, games, music, newsletters, childrens stuff - all sorts of things that help make a home a home ... and at no cost :T :T.
........ know I tend to go on a bit :rotfl:(!!!) but this great & friendly board:T:T
Hope to see you logging on & good luck with all!!!!!0 -
