Hi. This is a bread maker recipe from the Panasonic booklet:
1oz (25g) demerara sugar
3oz (75g butter
2oz (50g) golden syrup
3oz (75g) black treacle
8oz (225g) plain flour
1½ tsp (8ml) ground ginger
1½ tsp (8ml) baking powder
½ tsp (3ml) bicarbonate of soda
½ tsp (3ml) salt
¼ pint (150ml) milk
1 medium egg, beaten
You cook it on 'Bake only' for 35 minutes. I was wondering what temperature this would be in a gas oven. It comes out great in the breadmaker but I thought in the oven I could make two at once.
Thanks.

I've got a recipe that a friend gave me a while ago for a ginger cake with fairly similar ingredients, which says to cook it at gas mark 2 for 50 minutes. I haven't yet tried the recipe myself but I've eaten it when my friend has made it and it comes out pretty well (absolutely :drool: actually!).
Back after a very long break!0 -
I whack all cakes at gm5 for 20-25 mins to be honest! Never had a problem - just keep testing it by sticking a knife in the middle - if it comes out clean then the cake is done.0
