Blackpool Parking?

Have booked a short break at Copham Sands around 20 miles north of Blackpool in order to visit blackpool each day (4 day trip) - I was rather silly and assumed a touristy place like blackpool would have a park and ride system but have now found out they dont. Can anyone tell me therefore what parking is like in the centre of town near amusements/seafront? We got a great cheap deal on accommodation but would hate to be spending £20+ etc on parking each day and hunting round ages for a space (memories of a trip to scarborough here). We need to be fairly near the seafront as one of the party has mobility problems. Is there a place to park near outskirts and maybe we can get a travel card to get near to attractions? Been searching the blackpool websites but cant see anything.

Thanks

  • I think it's about £7 for 8 hours, it's what I paid in the "Central" car park a couple of weeks ago.
    Lots of spaces though.
I've parked on the one closer to Pleasure beach but requiring a bit of walking, I think that one was cheaper, but can't remember now, sorry.

Thanks for the reply - if you remember the name or location of the nearer one please let me know. The price for the Central one is better than I was expecting (and much cheaper than some other towns i've been to) - the only problem is it seems a fair walk from the main street/seafront and with a 70+ year old with arthritis it may be too much - she is determined to visit the amusements each day with us but I really need to park as close as possible even if it comes to more than the £7 or so (hopefully not the £20+)

  • The Central parking is right next to the high street, tower, main piers.
Pleasure Beach and the waterpark are about 1.5m away from there.
There's parking right next to PB but I don't know the pricing, and it seems quite small - the one where I parked was about 400m away, and it's probably the same £7, because the main car parks are all operated by the same company.

Maybe wait for someone from Blackpool to reply?

Fantastic - sorry on map it looked a fair old walk away from the main seafront. Thanks so much for the info. We are not going to the PleasureBeach itself as although mum enjoys playing the fruit-machines and bingo etc I think she draws the line at actual rides (think of the advert where the old couple accidentally get on the roller coaster and you can image whats in my head ).

I'll head towards the central car park when I get there and hunt out the prize bingo and penny-fall machines for mum (she can spend hours at these lol).

    Thanks again

You're welcome, and you'll find loads of penny-fall machines very near the parking (I quite like them myself :D)
