My sis-in-law has renovated her kitchen by rubbing down the doors, and two undercoats and two top coats and a smart set of handles and its looking great and a fraction of the cost of a new kitchen.
She has a slight problem though as on the walls there are some nice cream tiles but they are surrounded by horrible brown grouting. Now should she try to dig it out and regrout in white(she' worried that she may lose some tiles this way as she doesn't know how long they have been up ,she has livd there 7 years and they were there when she moved in.Or can you think of anything else she can do to change the colour of the grouting. It really is spoiling her kitchen and she worked so hard on it. Any ideas chums

I don't think you can, I have dug out grouting and redone it in the past - it's fiddly but the tiles all stayed in one piece, you don't have to get the lot out, just enough so a new layer will cover it.0

Is it just really grubby? If so, try neat bleach - thats what I'm doing on my friend/landlords.0

You can get tubes of recolour from place like B&Q - did it once years ago and the effect was stunning.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

Cheers for that I will tell her, I may have a look when I go there on Wednesday as I have to buy some 'painters caulk' or 'decorators mate' to fill in the cracks in the plaster in the porch before emulsioning over it.It's where the plaster was cracked by the plasterer trying to hurry to get it dried, and put an electric fire in there to speed things up. My new glazed porch is my autumn project.0
