Beginner's Question - What does "Salary Mandated" mean?

I did try a search and the newbie guide but couldn't see this term explained. It's a "Yes/No" option on the application form for my first credit card. Thanks in advance

They want to know if your salary is paid directly to a bank account by your employer.0
