or co-operative if you want an electron card on a basic bank account
you can't spend more money than you have in the account as it will just decline - handy for using if u save money by checking prices of things on the internet0 -
or Nationwide do a decent basic account with card...

All the banks I have asked will only give a cashcard so you can't use it in shops, I know I can't have a debit card, but I thought I would be able to get a solo or electron card, but they aren't offered with basic bank accounts. So could try Co-operative, thanks.

no credit scoring on "basic bank" accounts
electron from co-op or
solo from natwest
however, i have noticed when i have been applying for a basic bank account the assistant in the bank always trys the line of "why are you only applying for basic acc, why don't i try for a better acc for you and if we can't we will offer the basic"
- of course this means they will credit search you for the proper current acc so just keep saying no0 -
nationwide account is not a "basic bank account" as defined by the government for people with bad credit scores
therefore they will credit score you0 -
excellent, will go Co-operative tomorrow! Thanks for all your help x
