Can you book a mortgage deal in advance?

Hi all,

is it possible for my mortgage broker to book a fix rate deal for me in a veiw to start in say, 6 months time? If so will there be hefty fees involved?

As i am currently enjoying nationwides BMR 2.5% but am worring rates may shoot up soon but could do with a few more months of low mortgage payments to pay a small debt off first.

Thanks in advance for any advise given

Your broker can organise a deal for you now but any offer that you obtain will have a time limit 3 or 6 months tends to be the norm and varies from lender to lender so you would just need to be careful.

Negative equity changes things then, they won't let you book a deal and not take it straight away as far as I am aware.
