A get rich quick scheme that looks like a con

I was asked about the viability of a 'get rich quick' scheme called 'wealthy affiliate' which I hadn't heard of before. I went online to check it out, and noticed that they have literally saturated the web with their advertisements, with participants seemingly earning some cash for referrals.
They have bought loads of domains that include the word 'scam' and 'con' in the address, so that if you are looking for true articles about the scheme that might refer to the scheme as a 'scam' or 'con', you won't find them due to the search engines constantly flagging up these domains.
It all genuinely feels in my gut like total rubbish - 'if it looks and sounds like a scam, it's a scam'.
I was searching to try and find some real reviews of the scheme, and hopefully discover the truth about it. Any recommendations about where I might find some honest articles about the scheme that don't suddenly link back to the 'wealthy affiliate' website would be appreciated.

You seem to have answered your own question. Why bother going any further?0 -

Absolutely, I have no intention of it myself, but I just want to convince my friend to not proceed with it, because he seems pretty interested in it, rather than just accept my gut reaction about it.0 -
There is no way to get rich quick and thats what these people pray on. you can make money from affiliate marketing but its no easy task and requires alot of time and effort, its a job in itself.
They will have written articles / ebooks and advertisments all over the internet linking back to their site and will probably pay people to do the same, so you will only ever find good reviews and people trying to sell you the product (or other products).0 -
Ask yourself this
If there was a good get rich scheme where do you think the money would come from?
Don't you think most of us wouldn't be doing it?
These so called get rich are 95%+ scams they rely on people being duped or paying in to get people further up the pyramid scheme, or rely on posting or sending off things that you pay for te in hope they get accepted but they never do
Get a job to get money0 -

I was actually a member of Wealthy Affiliate last year. They teach you how to make an income from affiliate marketing. The reviews that are on Google are all from Wealthy Affiliates themselves (not the owners) but are obviously hyped up as you earn a percentage of any sale. I am no longer with Wealthy Affiliate but I found their teachings invaluable as I know run my own website which I have been building up over the last year.
But you could probably find most of the info online somewhere for free. But as I have affiliate marketing on my website this knowledge has helped me tremendously in promoting my site. But if affiliate marketing is not your thing - don't bother.0 -

The problem with a get rich scheme is that its true what they say, but they forget to say the only one getting rich quick is the person who has set theme scheme up!0
