Best multiple site hosting deal I've found, promo code for just £15 a year!!!

I've been doing ALOT of research on this, and found one of the best hosting deal packages in terms of money saving too.
Dreamhost (https://www.dreamhost.com) has a special 'code monster' deal for their L3 level for 50% discount right now. I've used many different hosts and I have to say that they have great uptime and very fast.
You can compare their price plans here:
http://www.dreamhost.com/shared/comparison.html
The only annoying thing I've found about them is that they don't have cpanel. But their ccustomer service is brilliant and for the price...
Now check this out. When you check out, use the PROMO code "MAXDREAMCODE". It saves you an additional $90 on ALL packages which brought my yearly down to literally £15!!! CRAZY!
All you have to do is go to https://www.dreamhost.com and then enter the code when you check out.
Have at least 4 of my sites hosted with them now, and very happy. For the price I don't think I can find anything better.
Avoid hosts on ebay, they are a pile of crap!

I have been looking for a website host for a while, If i use this as my host does anyone know if I can use my domain name eg walkalone.co.uk, or do I have to have walkalonedreamhost.co.uk?,
Just I want a host that will allow me to use my domain by itself.Student Loan - £2200, Cleared June 2008

Dream Host will allow you to host your own domain.
I signed up with supreme network today, they have a package thats unlimited everything for $25 a year or $20 if you put "hostsearch".
They let you host unlimited add on domains. So you can have yourdomain1.com pointing at yourdomain1 files and yourdomain2.com point at yourdomains2 files so both sites look like seperate entities despite being hosted together.~Diminutive0 -
Everyone has their views - this is mine. No disrespect to the OP.
If you're in business and need your web site to be working permenantly, you need to have a good relationship with your supplier. That does not mean buying the cheapest service you can find.
Hosting deals are 10 a penny, at whatever price-point you care to choose.
What you need is a stable relationship with a host. A host that will respond when you need them to and a host that will advise you on the best course of action.
I'm sure this is a "good" deal within the confines of low-cost hosting, but my business and the business of my clients is far more important than saving a of hundred or so pounds a year on cheap hosting.
I feel that money saving when you're buying a service, particularly a service that could be critical to your business, is often a false economy. It's totally unlike buying a product as, certainly in this case, the service is on-going for a period of time.
Also, I recommend business hosting in the UK if you're a UK operation.

I agree with you Odd Fellow, unless you prepared to pay a lot you will not get quality. Sure everyone knows 1and1 hosting company. I have few clients who uses them for ecommerce and their cs is so bad, lots of down times.
Sometimes small company will be able to provide better support because they care and know their few customers.
Unfortinately I don't have a better deal. But for £15 a year with 1 free domain name you cannot go wrong even for personal home page
Recomended to my client.Odd_Fellow wrote:Everyone has their views - this is mine. No disrespect to the OP.

Dreamhost are terrible. I hosted a single site with them for a year (mind you it cost me about £3 at the time) but I didn't stay with them because service was terrible.. I host with a tiny but long established private company based in America.. it's not the cheapest but service is awesome. You can talk to the guy that owns it on AIM or email him and he'll sort everything you for you personally - you can't get better than that.
I don't agree with the UK hosting however. The UK is VERY VERY backwards when it comes to hosting. Prices are extortionate, servers are slow and in general you're going to be ripped off.
The UK is very behind on web technology - our internet connections aren't what you get in other places such as hong kong/US.. they're slow and expensive.
I do register all my domains with Fasthosts (Uk Reg) who are a UK company, but I wouldn't host with them in a million years.
There's nothing wrong with hosting in the US - if you use a .co.uk address search engines will still include you in the "pages from the uk search". (although if you have a .com and a US server, you won't be usually).
Basically though - avoid dreamhost. They're rubbish.
However if anyone can recommend a cheap but reliable reseller package, or a VPS to me I'd be very interested.0 -
so dreamhost or supreme network would be ideal for me just to set up a personal website, I just want to display my hobby which is collecting match worn Liverpool shirts, and other signed memorbilla, and also have a section to that only me and my friends can view to see pictures taken from druken nights out.Student Loan - £2200, Cleared June 2008

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons codes are not permitted on the Grabbit board and have been moved. If in doubt please read this and this for an explanation. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0

Hi all,
This is just my two cents worth but I'll say it none the less.
The cost of a service does not necessaryily dictate that you get quality or value. Certainly on the value front you may find yourself disappointed when you pay more.
For my money https://www.phpwebhosting.com are a superb company and charge on $10 per month. The service is superb and downtime when I was with them for over 3 years was rare and support was impeccable.
They're the best small hosting firm I've found. What you need to look for is recommendation of a host rather than raw cost analysis or where it is based. Personal experience is the only measuring tool I use for hosting companies.
I'd back what was said against UK hosting. The cost of service provision in the UK to the hosting firsm is higher and that cost is passed onto you the business/consumer. If the service is UK based and cheap then that rings bells in my head. However, costs are coming down here some some of the lower cost providers are getting better.
As I said, just my two cents/pense worth.
Dre... and that's all I have to say about that.0 -
Yeah, unfortunately I can't afford hundreds of pounds a year to host. I have spent a long time trying to find the best deal, and last year I paid about £75 for the year hosting with one of these 'unlimited' packages (icanahost to be specific). However they just oversell their packages and since there's no such thing as unlimited you suffer in terms of downtime and reliability. Also their support is pretty rubbish.
What I like about dreamhost is that they have been really working to improve their services and usually get back to you very quickly about any issues at all. For the price with promo codes you really can't beat it. You can also host multiple domains, and since I run a few pretty big sites with high traffic it is very useful to have the bandwidth and space.
I have not had too many issues with them yet (except some downtime yesterday for about 5 minutes) and having a site with over 6000 members and over 2 gb of data, i am still pretty satisfied with them.
I've just found a few other discount codes, not sure how much discount you get but feel free to try them out

Oh and don't forget to pick a domain (it will be FREE for life as long as you continue to use their hosting)0
