  • It is possible we cleared over £15,000 worth of debt on benefits. It was hard and took time. No I dont regret it, yes I am proud we never gave up.

  • Tesco has frozen the interest, I agree that it's a tight SOA which is why I'm not sure that a DMP is the right choice for me, CCCS jumped straight in with this as a suggestion and I am so new to all this and all by myself trying to work out what is best for me. Would it be woth me getting another opinion from CAB or my local Law Centre? I was on a reasonable salary (£25k) when I took out the loan and could easily afford the repayments as well as make a real dent in the Credit card debt........a bit stuck now as to the best course of action
  • Hi Yellowduck, I don't have anything to offer other than good wishes but I do hope you get things sorted, not least cos you have such a great name ;)

    Best of luck :)

It would be worth going to the CAB as I would only recommend that you pay a token payment otherwise using your excess income on repaying the debt could put you into poverty.

Oh how cute, Honeybear you really made me smile:A
  • I had a look at National Debtline website re DMP and the advice there was to only go down round that road if you have at least £100 left over after paying essentials and have at least 3 creditors. This sounds a bit more realistic. Think I will ring them on Mon, I am looking for p\time work but with my health probs think this might take time. Will let all you lovely supportive people know how my saga develops
