Green Water Stain On Ceramic Sink?

Ive just found a green water stain on my ceramic sink in our guest bathroom, its not a room we use so we didnt notice a dripping tap and now its marked!!

Ive tried a regular bathroom cleaner and bleach but its still there! We are renting right now so we will be in big trouble if we cant get this off, does anyone have any ideas?

Please help!

Thanks

I would try soaking some paper towels in white wine vinegar and leaving them pressed against the stain for about an hour and hopefully it will have removed it. If it hasn't then apply baking soda and brush it in to the (hopefully) loosened stain.

The stain is caused by the copper content either in your water or leaching from your pipes.

Oh and I saw Kim and Aggie use a wet pumice stone very gently on stains like that which seemed to work really well too, but the keyword here is 'gently' so you do not scratch it.

    Good luck

I wonder whether Limelight limescale remover would do it. It has removed some greenish stains from our avocado coloured toilet basin. The other tip, until your dripping tap can be sorted out, is to try leaving a face cloth in the basin so that the water drips directly onto that and then drips away from the material down the plug hole rather than straight onto the ceramic coating in the basic. It will still get wet of course, but might not make such a bad impact on the ceramic glaze.

Rub it with half a lemon dipped in some salt. The salt is abrasive and the lemon juice both dissolves the copper stain and bleaches the mark.
