Friday 18th Sept - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Good morning
- woo hoo tis Friday at last:T
Thank you all for your 'feel better' messages yesterday - I'm not *too* bad, can manage to get through the days ok, it's just a constant pain there, that I fret about getting any worse. Goin to have some painkillers this morning and will proably be able to forget it for the day:rolleyes: Might ring the hospital again later though.
ANyway, very glad it's the weekend....still no shiny laptop though:mad: My girls are off to their dad's tonight so I have 2 days of peace....lovely:p
List for today:

Morning Milly and everybody who comes along later - yay! its Friday! :j
Decided it is no good giving myself impossible lists for work days as I work long hours and have to commute, so today I have/ will:
Check online banking
HM meals - breakfast and packed lunch, out for a housewarming BBQ tonight, so no cooking :j
See to plants and animals - my poor chickens are moulting. There are feathers everywhere and they must be feeling the cold a bit I should think, as it is chilly early mornings and evenings now.
Read free paper on train
Pop into supermarket on the way home from work and get something to take to BBQ - I ought to make something but that is not going to happen as I won't be home from work till late. Also get some rolls and bacon for OH as he and a pal are going out all day tomorrow and like to cook themselves hot bacon rolls when they get there after a very early start! Cheaper than buying breakfast out I guess
Look forward to the weekend :T
Have a nice day everyone :hello:0 -

Hi everyone - Friday already, how did that happen? T is eating an early lunch and soon we'll be off to school for the third time. He is very excited, bless him.
Today I have and will
1) Had planned a NSD but had to buy a bday present for B's Dad ( from her). She said it had to be something expensive as he earns lots of money and has nice things. :eek:I said, "well, I don't earn lots of money" - so there!
2) Picked up books for B from library that we had reserved. She is desperate to read these so it will keep her entertained for ages.
3) Pay expenses cheques into bank.
4) Will make my own bread - by hand! Haven't done this since I was little.
5) Use up veg by making a veg, pasta and bean soup. Or "pasta e fagioli" as they called it on Economy Gastronomy. Much posher :rotfl:
6) Sc x10p
7) Online survey
8) Attempt to declutter my minging kitchen while T is at school. It will be strange to be at home without him as whenever he was at the childminder I was at work!
9) Look forward to the return of Peep Show on TV tonight which I shall enjoy with a glass of wine.
Good luck with your lists, L x0 -
Afternoon all!!
HB - well done on getting your lunch to work in one piece!!:D
MC - Go and post those letters!!!
Todays list:
* Do Mrs Mop job at SIL's (pays for fuel for the week)
* Charged mobile while I was there
* Check on-line banking :eek:(£2.60 to last till next Friday :rotfl:)
* Do meal plan for next week (have enough in cupboards and freezer)
* Do budget for next month as still not done it
* Mooch about on the Old Style forum looking for inspiration
Thats about it!

Afternoon everbody!
Billy Connolly was BRILLIANT last night!!! Cannot believe how funny he is, think a little bit of wee might have come out at some point
Managed not to spend too much money either - only £30 on some petrol which I had budgeted for and a bag of kettle chips on the way down. Also took a chest of drawer back to ikea while we were in Edinburgh and got a £29 credit note and bought some lovely plants for the new house and some oven gloves...it's like shopping without spending any money!
So todays DFW tasks are:- [STRIKE]Check online banking
- Pay denplan refund cheque into bank
- Washing done and hung outside in the sunshine[/STRIKE]
- Dinner from the freezer (liking the idea of oven fish and chips!)
- Go for a swim
- NSD
