Hi there,
I want to make my own fabric advent calendar and stocking for my toddler but not sure where is best to buy fabric on-line. i have googled, but there are so so many companies out there, how do I know which are good and decently priced ( I haven't actually bought fabric before - always bought things already made). I live near Eastbourne so an actual shop anyone can recommend would be great.

How competent a sewer are you? Were you planning on using a sewing machine or doing it by hand? Just that if you're not a sewer I would suggest that you buy felt as it doesn't need hemming - it won't fray. Not cheap, but .....Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
i bought some air drying clay from the works in the summer and me and my girls are going to make loads of tree decs by using xmas cookie cutters, may even get them to make some for each set of grandparents to wrap for xmas, thought it would make a lovely handmade personal gift:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

Dunelm Mill would probably be a good option for you - is down near B&Q. Think there's a fabric shop in town - opposite McDonalds? LJM mentioning the works is good, they do a lot of small sequins and things, you have one in the Arndale. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'
