  • Don't have the answer unfortunately, but I'm sure someone will come along with some advice shortly......wanted to bump the post for you, so you may get a helpful reply.

Have you tried the site 'entitledto.co.uk' (I think that's what it's called anyway) How about seeing CAB for advice?

    Hi,

If you are both unemployed with no other source of income you may be entitled to a joint JSA claim, for both contributory and non-contributory benefit.

On top of this you can claim
    • Housing Benefit (if local authority housing) or Local Housing Allowance (if private let).
    • Council Tax Benefit
    • Child Tax Credit
    • Child Benefit.
Is your OH getting a redundancy payment and of how much? Did you get one and again how much is now left? This may reduce what you get as they will for some benefits treat the amount as nominal income.
