Parents have just received a letter today from Sherforce detailing a high court enforcement that a company in my fathers name owes such money. They called today and will back. The real problem here is that my father has never worked for this company and has nothing to do wth it & doenst owe any money. They state what they think is his full name but its not all of his complete name. What on earth should they do in this situation?
They have contacted Sherforce who were very un helpfull, saying they can not stop the proceedings and they should sort it out with the debt recovery agent when they trun up possibly tomorrow.Would providing his P60 be of any use? Also to contact the court?

  • I think I have found their website of the company that has incured the debt and also looked them up on whois, which gives a registrants address and also the IP location of the website.Any use?
Also realise that we should make sure the debt collector does not enter the property, might even just sit outside the house with doors locked.
  • Bump.No response from anyone?
  • sorry not sure what to do but just wanted to say how awful, i think i would do what you say about sitting outside the house? or atleast waiting inside for the to show up and get out quickly?

Yes I intend doing that.Have I posted this in the correct forum? Thought somone might have been able to guide me and give me some ideas.
  • Seems what has happened is that somewhere from the getting the efnorcement order, they have managed to use my parents address instead of the address that is stated on the county court order.(shouldve read county court in my thread title)They have apologised and called off the proceedings, but this does nothing for my parents peace of mind, sleepless nights and wasted time/phonecalls.
  • For a start if like you say this is a company then they should not be attending the home address anyway unless that is also the registured office.

If they continue to push this matter then ask your father to call Sherforce and ask for Mr. Badger and ask for an interpleader in order for the debt to go back to a high court master and he will conclude the issue, Please do also claim for your time on this and that is at £9.25 per hour.

    Hope that helps
