Hotel for the night, romantic, not too pricy

  • The George Hotel in Inveraray is great. The room was traditional but really nice. We stayed for my birthday last year and had a lovely meal in the conservatory restaurant then into the bar for a few drinks & live music. The breakfast the next morning was just what was needed!!!!

Another decent hotel is Carlton George in Glasgow. Been over a year since our last stay however the price of an executive room(think we paid ~£100) includes free mini bar & access to executive lounge where you can relax with complimentary drinks, thhere are quite often offers which include a meal in the restaurant - deffo a great escape away from the kids!
  • Hope this isn't too late...

Me and the OH occasionally have a weekend break with the dog to a B&B or cottage. Quite often OH has turned to me with a worried look on his face thinking he's got the price wrong as for £30pppn you can actually stay in some pretty fab places!

For valentine's day OH took me (and the dog of course!) to Trigony House Hotel nr Dumfries - it was wonderful - I would definitely recommend it! Worth every penny of the £45pppn
