Hotel for the night, romantic, not too pricy

The George Hotel in Inveraray is great. The room was traditional but really nice. We stayed for my birthday last year and had a lovely meal in the conservatory restaurant then into the bar for a few drinks & live music. The breakfast the next morning was just what was needed!!!!
Another decent hotel is Carlton George in Glasgow. Been over a year since our last stay however the price of an executive room(think we paid ~£100) includes free mini bar & access to executive lounge where you can relax with complimentary drinks, thhere are quite often offers which include a meal in the restaurant - deffo a great escape away from the kids!0 -
Hope this isn't too late...
Me and the OH occasionally have a weekend break with the dog to a B&B or cottage. Quite often OH has turned to me with a worried look on his face thinking he's got the price wrong as for £30pppn you can actually stay in some pretty fab places!
For valentine's day OH took me (and the dog of course!) to Trigony House Hotel nr Dumfries - it was wonderful - I would definitely recommend it! Worth every penny of the £45pppn0 -
