Its OK saying that inflation is low, so this is in line with inflation, but that is not true on things everyone MUST buy, and what most faceing financial hardship can ONLY afford to buy

From July 07 to July 08, food prices increased by just under 11%, examples

    Meat and fish: +22.9%
    Store cupboard/general: +15%
    Fresh fruit/vegetables: +14.7%
    Laundry/washing/paper: +14.4%
    Drink: +6.8%
    Pet food: +6.5%
    Bakery/cereal: +6%
    Frozen food: +5.8%
    Household: +4.4%
    Health & beauty: +0.4%
    Ready meals: -0.4%
    Dairy: -1.8%
    Baby food: -2.5%

And it has continued to rise, at least it has where i am

From July 07 to July 08 Petrol prices increased 24%, they have dropped, but are rising again

Over a similar period Gas And electric rose as high as 50%, but to be fair did fall a bit, there is no stat I can find on this, but some reports indicate 20-30% is what it levels off at.

Yes cars, house prices and LCD tv prices have dropped like a stone, but who faceing BR is looking to buy them:confused:

It was already way behind when it was last updated, if the above trends continue when the figures for 2008-2009 are released.............................................you do the maths

  • It really !!!!es me off that they don't include pocket money for children but they are taking CHB into consideration. It's for the benefit of the children not the parents debts.

am i missing something as when i clicked on the link it still says child benefit should not be used at all
it did say child tax credit should be used.

also where do they live? i know there are 5 of us but for four it says £36 for water, we on a meter and ours is £80 a month!!! our gas and electric work out at £100 each £200 total,
bet they live on those allowances......

When you hover over the little red triangles in the calculator it now reads this
Include all bankrupt's income sources, both earned and unearned. This includes all benefits including child benefit. No income payments to be agreed where the bankrupt's income derives solely from benefits.
