I have been notified by the Tax Office about getting NIL tax Code but not from the OR is this normal

Yep.

If the systems work the way they should, then HMRC is automatically notified of the BR and "should" then apply the NT code as appropriate.

If you don't hear anything about how to make NT IPA payments soon, then contact your OR who should get MB onto it.

It has been agreed that electronic notification of the bankruptcy order will cause the local tax office dealing with the bankrupt taxpayer’s affairs to identify where appropriate cases where the nil tax (NT) code will be applied, the application of the NT coding is not dependant on any manual notification from the official receiver to the tax office.
