Hi everyone - can I join your group please? Have been lurking for ages and decided today's the day to stand up and be counted. I've not had a drink since New Years Eve so am doing very well - usually have wine with my evening meal and a couple (or more) of voddies every night. Got to the point where I was sick of being hungover a lot of the time - and when DH and I thought about how much we were spending on booze, it horrified us! I'm determined to not drink during January so can you put me down for 31 days in January please?Sober October = 0 alcohol free days

No photos!! Please!!
I can't rid myself of the vision of me on my 5th glass of wine talking rubbish & getting generally over-excited while you all look at each other in total horror!!
It won't happen...............
(actually, it probably won't cos in company the need for the stimulus of booze is far less. Plus, I'd NEVER live it down!!)
What is it about wine? - I love a g&t but the gin bottle doesn't tempt - I got one in for xmas & it's still hanging about. OH had one at the weekend so now there's a probably pub-double measure of gin left, & I have tonic, It would be so easy to "tidy it up" but I won't, yet if there was an opened bottle of wine around, I'd probably be drinking it RIGHT NOW! btw I couldn't help but notice an OH g&t = 1/4 bottle of gin but not much of a dent in the tonic!! Nearly a whole bottle of gin & 1/2 bottle tonic! Is why I never let him do one for me!!

Andy,
Would you and Mrs BHB be able to join us on our fabulous outing adventure? I know how much you love that A12 :rotfl: (nowhere near J17 where PBT lives by the way )
Who where when why:D
Oh - just seen the list so I know who ..... must have fallen asleep again:D

I'm the same with beer, wb... Any other alcohol in the house and I can take it or leave it. There's a half bottle of toffee vodka in the freezer that I haven't touched (wonder why the level is going down though..... evaporation? DS1? hmmmmmm), but if I know that there is a tin of beer in the fridge, it'll gnaw away at me until I give in and drink it
who'd have thought we'd have a sensible conversation......
ETA : welcome mookie :wave:Neigh, neigh, and thrice neigh
