in Cutting tax
I work under 16hrs as a self-employed swimming teacher and am also looking at becoming an instructor for someone else but NOT swimming teaching - more of a fitness instructor for kids....(it is a franchise but i will work for her as self-employed) - still all totals under 15k.....
Do i put all my expenses and incomes together on the tax return even though it is for 2 seperate jobs????
Also, my neighbour is going to be having my child for the time i am working. It is 30mins and £15 for that half hour - i will obviously claim 40p mile for travel but as i will be paying my neighbour about £5 for the hour and half (travel time) can i claim the childcare on expenses or is there some other way or discounting that as income..... i will keep receipts
Any help to maximise my income pls as i have 3 children! and privately rent arghhhhhhhhhhhh

These are two separate businesses so you need to keep separate records and complete two self employment pages on your SA.
Childcare expenses are not part of yur business and are not allowable for tax, whether you are employed or self employed.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
But check whether you might be entitled to the childcare element of working tax credit. (I don't think it will be possible though unless your neighbour is a registered childminder.)0
