Just found what seems to be a bargain price.
At my local B & Q they are selling Halogen MR16 (GU10) 50w 240v Lamps as a pack of 6 for only £2.00 for all 6. They sell at £8.64 for 4 so this must be a misprice in some way. The cheapest price Ive seen is usually about a pound for just 1.
They rang thru the till at £2.00.
Hope this is of help to someone.

These are the bulbs that fit in things like kitchen lights.
They look like these but the B & Q ones are not Philips

I saw these in B&Q too at the weekend. Bear in mind there are two types of fitting :
the GU10 pictured above with the thick bayonet fitting not on offer.
and the MR16 which is £2.00 at B&Q which has a pin fitting pictured here :

Just checked and these are the thick bayonet fitting. They did have the other type there too. both on offer.

Great ! I'll need to go back, am after the thick bayonet GU10's. Couldn't see them last time though. Will have a better look this time.

Bought some of these in the Bletchley branch this afternoon, but they were full price. May only be certain stores, so be careful out there.0

I think you'll find that the "pin type" fitting is for Low Voltage lighting i.e. 12V (needing a transformer) whereas the thick type is for normal mains voltage of 240V.
So pls check before you buy.0
