Loans for bad credit risk
Hi Guys,
A few years ago I had a very rough time with CC companies and banks. I never got any CCj's, it never got that far, had some fantastic help from the Consumer Credit Counselling service, got my life back on track, paid off the money I owed and I now don't have to worry about what the postman is going to deliver in the morning.
I am getting married later in the year and I would like to give my wife to be a day to remember. This costs money as you know. I'd like to take out a loan for around £7500 but given my history, even though there have been no unpaid bills, no bank charges, no late payments, no money probs, I think I will have trouble getting a loan.
I have a mortgage and, luckily, about 100k equity on my flat (I bought at the right time). Is a secured loan the best option? I have been advised that I won't get an unsecured one.
Any ideas people? All help gratefully appreciated.....

Don't start you family life with a new debt! IMHO your wife will be much happier without a day to remember and a debt (expensiver one!) than with both of them.0

If I was your wife I'd be soooo much happier with a happy husband when there is no bills to worry about 1 year down the line.
Ever heard of the wife leaving the husband cause he's distant, constantly worrying about debt, while she thinks he's having an affair?
Make it simple with things to remember, with some thought and efford put in you can make a great day to remember without breaking the bank!0 -
Why not add the amount onto your mortgage ? Given that you have £100k of equity they should say yes, and mortgage interest rates will likely be much lower than an unsecured loan.0

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the advice. I ended up adding it to the mortgage at very much cheaper rates than unsecured.
Now we can get hitched in style...
