    A very good midgy repellant is Avons " Skin so Soft" I gather it is sold as much for this use as its original skin softening properties

    But only the Green "Woodland Fresh" variety and not the others.
  • another vote for May here although for me the last two summers have been pretty good,betterthan the rest of the country! September is often a good month here too but this year it hasn't been so good, feels like Winter this week with all the wind & rain we've been having!
  • I would say September is your best bet or middle to end of May. It seems a bit of fluke but as soon as the schools go back quite often the weather improves, so you might get some reasonable weather early September.
    Bring your waterproofs too!!! Happy Holiday.
