Hi desmonds, like SS I am confused by your posts. This is not meant to offend, but from the attitude in your posts you appear to have been plotting to screw the creditors for all you could get, then when you realise it needs to be payed back, you are looking to escape scott free.
How can you compare underage drinking to overage spending, you are not a child you know the implications of taking on debt, and yes the creditors are partly to blame for giving too freely, but you could have said NO.
You say you have a 900 overspend each month, but that you will have no probs getting 5k? are you planning on borrowing that as well?
Creditors can still come after you years after BR,I have a family member who went bankrupt and still gets creditors calling, they still cannot buy a house or get a credit card,or bank account for that matter. If you are hoping to go BR then get into debt all over again to maintain your lifestyle,it won't work.
Sorry for any offence caused but could not help myself,I too am weak!

NO, I INTEND TO GO BR BECAUSE IT IS MY BEST OPTION. IT WOULD BE STUPID TO DO A DMP IF THAT IS GOING TO COST ME MORE. I HAVE NO MORAL CONSCIENCE TO THE CREDITORS.

ALL I AM CONCERNED WITH NOW IS THAT I DO THE BEST FOR ME NOT FOR SOME SCUM CREDITOR OR DEBT FREE WANNABEE FOR THAT MATTER.

NON OF YOU ARE ANGELS YOURSELVES.

YOU'RE ALL UP TO YOUR EYEBALLS IN DEBT AS MUCH AS ME AND THAT'S NOT MEANT TO BE AN OFFENSIVE COMMENT.

I CERTAINLY DON'T INTEND TO GO BR AGAIN BUT INSTEAD NOT HAVE TO BORROW ON CREDIT EVER AGAIN.

IF YOU READ MY POST PROPERLY 5K I CAN GET FROM EVEN MY WIFE WHO JUST HAPPENS NOT TO BE IN ANY OF THIS SO WHY SHOULD SHE NOT HAVE 5K IN THE FIRST PLACE ITS HER MONEY AND SHE IS NOT IN THIS.

I STILL HAE A JOB AND GOING BR WILL SEVERE THE DEBT ONCE AND FOR ALL.

AS FOR BUYING A HOUSE I ALREADY HAVE A MORTGAGE SO AS LONG AS I STAY WITH MY EXISTING MORTGAGE COMPANY THEN I WILL NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM IN OBTAINING A MORTGAGE.

ONCE THE FIXED RATE ENDS THEN IT GOES TO SVR BECAUSE MY TERM IS 28YRS.

THERE ARE 3 BANKS THAT WILL GIVE A BR A CURRENT ACCOUNT

    COOP, BARCLAYS,NATIONWIDE

AS FOR CREDITORS COMING AFTER YOU ONCE THE BR IS DISCHARGED AND EVERYTHING REALISED THEN I QUESTION THE ACCURACY AND ILLEGALITY OF YOUR COMMENT.

I dont think there is any need for that tone to be honest. I agree with living in hope. At the end of the day, you have 5k at your disposal ,why not pay the debt off with it, or at least some of it. You might not give a toss about your creditors, but many of us do.

Livinginhope, I presume, was making sure that you are not making risky decisions. at the end of the day, you have come here and talked about profit making companies as if they are on your side, they are not, they are on thier own. Due to this and other comments, some of us were worried that you may have been being somewhat naive & premature, but just checking for you in the long run. However, fine, if you dont like it, but then again, dont ask the questions if you dont want to invite comment.

Neither it would appear have the 6 or so people who have owed my business money for over 18 months. Have a think about how you would feel about your employer or customers having that attitude.

I rarely go on a forum I used to go on nearly every day, partly because one "know-it-all" told me he knew everything I knew and more. (Tricky without having a multiple personality disorder and identity problems). I think it extremely unlikely you have ever met me. Whether you have or not is irrelevant to my next comment: I am paying off everyone I owe money to, without IVAs DPMs or Bankruptcy. They will all get their money in full one day. Including me in your sweeping generalisations will not endear you to me, and that's the polite pre-watershed printable version.

Again? Aren't the rules different for subsequent occasions?

So your wife isn't involved in any of this apart from being married to you. She can easily find £5k but isn't going to use this except to buy out your equity if you go bankrupt. Can't you see that it is coming across that all you want to do is avoid paying your creditors anything and you get out of the situation as quickly as possible.

obviously, some of you on this forum have lost the plot and been brainwashed by the creditors.

It's as if you've lost the will to fight and have just laid down and handed in the towel.

    What nerds

I'm not the first to be shouted down on this forum and probably not the last but what sort of wimps are you.

You are fools to yourselves by allowing the creditors to think this way.

I will just have to speak to the ones who have the same mind of which there are only two, and, BTY they were slagged as well.

So, I don't feel inferior just probably in the wrong forum.

What is the point inme asking any questions when it seems the majority of those that answer are pro-creditor.

Creditors don't give a toss about you or me. All they are bothered is making loads of money on the backs of people.

They forceably ram adverts throughout the day on TV, loan after loan after loan targetting people who don't need to be in more debt.

They are con merchants, thieves, and vagabonds.

Don't stick up for them they are scum.

If they want to use tempting ways as a way of getting customers then they should expect that some people will end up in trouble....collateral damage.

This collateral damage is wriiten into there fees and they have accounted for it.

This collateral damage still makes them money, and so, they expect a percentage of all customers to fall into difficulty.

But does this stop them from hard selling, no, because if they tighten up their lending criteria and advertise after the watershed then they have less of a viewing market so less business.

I know we live in a capitalistic world but we need to fight these conglomerates like the big banks, the tesco's, Mcdonalds who in there own way are taking over the world and raking in billions.

Just look at ESSO and Shell's profits.

    It's rip off Britain.

BTY did any of you DFW do any form of protest during the fuel protest a few years ago.

Probably not, why, because you are like the most of British people, sorry Scottie, always moaning about high this and high that but when it comes to the crunch non of you are prepared to stand and be counted.

So now petrol prices will rise and rise and rise and you will moan and moan and moan until one day more people like me get together and do something about it because left to you lot then God help us.:T :T :T :T :T :T :T ;););)

I dont take kindly to us being slagged off like that.

My attitude is "Ive paid for it, they will get it back" I take full responsibility for the debt that I am in, after all it wasnt CV or others handing my credit card over the bar, it was me. Many of us here have the same opinion,it will be paid back, the sooner the better.

Rip off britain? Thats the whole point of this site, avoiding rip offs being savvy, spending less? Surely, isnt that why we are ALL here. PLease dont get the idea that we are all stupid here, certainly, we are not.

I think you have just ranted on a bit too much there and ive lost your point by the end of the thread.

Good luck to you whatever you decide.

Couple of things, what does bty mean? I've heard of BTW, but not bty.

Secondly, where do the government get there money from? oh yeah, the tax that my husband leaves the house at 6am and gets home at 7pm to give them, and that I earn for 37 1/2 hours a week - and people like you must think we're mugs. and no, im not on the side of the creditors, and I dont have a debt problem either, I just get fed up with people taking the !!!!!! out of hard working people.

Desmond, with an attitude like yours it's no wonder people aren't helping you.

You seem to think it's OK to get a free ride in life but you know what, bankruptcy is for people who have no choice. Your exploiting it by taking the easy route out coz you "have lost the will to fight". Therefore it has an impact on us. The companies have higher interest rates to cover their losses on people like you.

So before you decide to mouth off next time, take a couple of minutes to sit back and have a think coz if it wasn't for people like us "fools", you wouldn't have the option to go bankrupt!

As for it being rip-off Britain you people really get my back up about this! What have you done to help the cause? Oh yeah, run up a load of debt that you now want wiped clean! Someone is gonna have to pay for it! Oh yeah, thats me and the rest of the users on this board! Your moaning about the price of petrol too but I bet you happily pay more per litre for a bottle of water!

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

    Did you protest?

If so it didn't work did it? Petrol prices are even higher now!
