    Hi gilly,

There are a couple of older threads that might help:

    Smoothies / milkshakes

    A lump free smoothie?

I'll merge your thread into the first thread tomorrow to keep all the ideas in one place for other readers.

    In the meantime .....
I love making smoothies - the easiest by far is to throw a tin of peaches in the blender and blend! Sometimes I include the juice, sometimes not - sometimes add natural yog. Basically I think anything goes!
Pears give a slightly gritty texture, pips in tinned strawbs can be felt.
To me the real challenge is to not drink the whole lot in one sitting!
    Hope you have fun!

PS glad you posted this - hadn't seen those other threads, looks like another day reading the boards tomorrow!

Probably not exactly a smoothie, but my sons favourite is strawberry, banana and milk. My daughters is strawberry, pineapple and orange juice.

We use a stick blender and it works well. I prefer to use fresh fruit when it's in season/cheap, but tinned works just as well.

Basically anything goes, have a play around with different combinations and see what you like best.

I hate milk, but...farmfood do frozen fruit, atm they have 2 packs of straqberries for £1, they have blackberries etc also.
defrost only what you need, stick in blender with milk and YUMMY!
not a single artificial anything, and as the fruits frozen nothign goes to waste.
I've worked it out to be about 15p a 1/2 pint glass.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
