Moneysaving Snack Food

Hi all, I haven't been posting here very long, but from the information I have picked up from various sources I thought I would share:)
I have an OH that is an absolute "snack food monster" ie if we have enough money left at the end of a month to buy beer/wine then everyone has a few and suffers with the munchies don't they? or is that just us?? I thought I would make a list of quick snacks that can be made and frozen for what seems to me a fraction of the price that supermarkets charge:
Bacon sarnies are the best, we have done these in rolls or normal bread, simply make as normal (cooking bacon and sandwiching, with the bacon and rolls/bread you have whoopsied from somewhere) wrap in kitchen roll and bag/cling film and freeze, when it's taken out take all plastic or bags off, micro in kitchen roll(this is from frozen) for 1-2 mins = perfect bacon sarnie.
Burgers are another one, cook them according to instruction(even if making your own) acquire some rolls, make burgers as you would normally make...again wrap in paper followed by bag/cling film and freeze.
When ready take out (frozen) and dispose of all plastic and micro for 2-3 mins in paper= burger to satisfy late night munchies. I used to do this when I worked as I was on permanent lates and I knew he wouldn't cook anything, I am now redundant and looking at making cheap meals, but when it comes to getting a burger at the kebab shop...or one of those ready made things from a supermarket, it's much cheaper to do it yourself! I hope this helps someone

I'm a snack monster too, mostly for savoury and cheesy things late at night. My favourite emergency munchy food is pitta bread. Keep pitta bread in the freezer and whack it in the toaster still frozen. I usually have sour cream in the fridge, if desperate I will have nachos and straight sour cream, or add chopped up spring onion and grated cheese, or grated cucumber and a dash of mint sauce.
Cheese on toast.
Pate and toast
Cheese and crackers, or smorgasboard, pickles, olives and salami always goes down well with a glass of wine.
Slice of quiche, or on your theme of ready made things, what about french bread pizzas pre-made up and frozen.Mortgage
