  • Hello,

I'm not sure if I have posted this in the correct place but I have a query i want to ask.
I am trying to purchase a TV from Littlewoods.com on a weekly payment basis. I selected the plan I wanted and added the item to checkout. I had to register an account and so I did. As i got to the final stage, it asked me to answer a few questions such as
    - if i have a credit/debit card
    - any chilldren under the age of 16
    - any bank accounts etc

I completed the questions and received the following:
Sorry, we are unable to accept your credit application at the moment, please continue with this transaction by paying with your credit or debit card. pay_by_credit_debit_card.gif If you would like more information on why we are unable to approve credit for you at this time please contact an advisor on 0844 811 1218.

Do you have any idea as to why i am unable to set up a credit application in order to pay on a weekly basis. Perhaps i'm doing something wrong?

Help much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Maybe because your first purchase is a large item they need further credit checks? Give them a call and find out more.

the cost of the TV is £200. I'm not sure why it's not being accepted. I might give them a call later on. thanks for that.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, if so what did you do?

Hi, im new, and hope ive posted in the right place..

Theres a BuyNowPayLater offer for Littlewoods on at the moment and im thinking of using it. Im just not sure on one thing...

Basically, If i buy an item at £539, but for the BuyNowPayLater offer to work, i have to take that item out on an 'interest extended' payment which would be 104weeks, credit price £699...

Then, once i add the BuyNowPayLater offer to that, they bump more interest on top of that increasing the credit price to something like £927. Which is ridiculas and so not worth it imo...

But, in the T&C, is says that to avoid paying interest, id have to pay the cash price in full prior to the expiry of the BuyNowPayLater period.

Now, would that "cash price" be the original item price of £539 ? or the 'interest extended' credit price of £699 ??

    Thanks.
  • if you pay off the full £539 before the buy now pay later date comes around, that is all you will pay, there will be no interest but you must have it paid before the pay later date
