Fredrickson International/Arrow Global - contacting my place of work

Hi,
I recieved a letter on Saturday (my Wedding day) from this company. They say I owe them over £5000. Never heard of this company before and they haven't given any details at all regarding this debt.
Today at work I received an email from HR saying that I needed to call Fredrickson Int "URGENTLY". Can they do this? How do I find out who they are without calling them?

Any help or advice would be great, I am so distraught that they have contacted the HR department at my place of work.

I got a letter too, but when I asked them, they said it was HSBC. I have posted a thread too about this company, so perhaps they are on a 'blitz' to send letters and get what they can?

They are a debt collection company.They're dealing with my Next store card debt.

dont call them.

write to them and get them to prove that you owe $5k. Ask them to stop trying to contact you via the phone both at home and work as you will not speak to them. If they do speak to you refuse to answer any security questions - they are then not allowed to speak to you as they cannot confirm who you are.

Contact your HR and tell them some DCA are fishing and trying to get you to pay a debt that you do not owe. ask HR to refuse to speak to them and not pass on any messages

I can't find the link, but if you trying searching on here there is a letter you can send to them formally stating that further telephone communication (to your home or work) will be considered harassment under the Telecommunications Act. Send it, along with the 'Prove the debt is mine' letter, and see what happens.

Log any further calls from them, just in case.
